ČVUT - FEL

FEL at Comic-Con: come charge up to 10,000 volts, meet robots and learn how to solder:

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU will participate in the Comic-Con Prague for the fourth time. The programme for fans of science fiction, fantasy and horror will be expanded to include a showcase of unusual technologies of the future, including walking robots SPOT, VR applications simulating a stay in space or Van de Graaff's generator. Thanks to static electricity, it can create amazing "hairstyles".

Visitors and visitors will leave our booth charged to 10,000 volts and knowledge. In addition to the Van de Graaff generator, which is a high-voltage generating device, there will be a PCB soldering workshop at the FEL booth. Students from the FEL CTU will explain and help how to use a soldering iron and create their first electrical circuit. There will also be a pancake maker, with which you can make pancakes according to the pattern and your own imagination.

FEL will also be strongly represented in the accompanying presentations this year. During the lecture on Stage A on Friday 5 April, our experts will present the latest trends in robot development. The speakers, Dr. Martin Pecka from the Department of Cybernetics and Bohumil Brož, a student of the Cybernetics and Robotics program, will explain how they use robotic pets in research.
Vojtěch Leischner and Pavel Husa, PhD students from the Department of Computer Graphics and Interaction, will perform with the Pendulum e-synthesizer and juggling balls on Friday evening. Their show will be watched by 800 VIP guests at the opening party of Comic-con Prague 2024
Then on Saturday, April 6, Dr. David Sedlacek from the Department of Computer Graphics and Interaction at FELU and his students will invite you into space on Stage A. Recently, they created the Deloitte Space Shuttle application simulating a stay on the ISS space station in virtual reality. You will get acquainted with a team-based multiplayer game that presents the course of space flight, everyday life in orbit, as well as the dangers and risks that astronauts and astronauts can face.
