Natalia Matolinets is award-winning Ukrainian writer from Lviv. She incorporates myths, magic and cultural heritage of Central and Eastern Europe into her fantasy stories. Author of seven novels: urban fantasy trilogy Varta in the Game; myth-inspired Hessie, Amaterasu Academy, All My Keys and Gaia; historical Ceramic Hearts.
Her books and short stories have been translated into English, Czech and Polish. Literary resident of Prague and Gdánsk, guest speaker of Sozopol seminars, CapitaLiterature festival in Sofia, BulgaCon in Plovdiv, CampYA festival in London, Book fair in Krakow and etc.
Eurocon 2023 Chrysalis Award winner, along with many Ukrainian literary prizes, including Best Debut, Best Series, shortlist of BBC Book of the Year and Top of most popular fantasy in libraries.
In 2023 her book "Varta in the Game" was published in Czechia as HRA TEMNÉ ČARODĚJKY by Fragment.
