Simone D’Armini is an Italian artist based in the United Kingdom. He works as a freelance illustrator, character designer, and comic book artist. He has collaborated with publishers such as Dark Horse, Marvel, IDW Publishing, and Oxford University Press, and has also contributed to gaming and visual projects focused on character, costume, and prop design. In addition to his creative work, he has taught drawing and composition at the Scuola Romana dei Fumetti in Rome.
Among his most notable works is the dark graphic adaptation of Shakespeare’s tragedy Macbeth: A Tale of Horror, created in collaboration with writer Stefano Ascari. This visually striking and atmospheric reinterpretation of the classic drama was also published in Czech by Comics Centrum under the title Macbeth aneb Krvavá lázeň.
D’Armini’s work is characterized by dynamic draftsmanship, strong use of light and shadow, and a distinctive sense of dramatic composition. He is among the artists who successfully combine classical inspiration with a modern, energetic visual style.
