JAROSLAV SATORANSKÝ (actor; Czechia)

Guest appearance: Sunday 15. March 2026

Jaroslav Satoranský is a Czech film, theatre, and voice actor. He comes from a family deeply involved in amateur theatre, as both his parents and his sister were active performers, which brought him close to acting from an early age. After completing elementary school, he trained as an engraver before being accepted to the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU), which he successfully graduated from in 1961. He began his professional career at the Jaroslav Průcha Theatre in Kladno in 1963, and in 1966 he joined the Theatre on Vinohrady in Prague, where he remains a member to this day. He has also performed at Na Jezerce Theatre and Theatre in Řeznická.

He first appeared on screen in 1959 in the children’s detective film Zpívající pudřenka. After several additional roles, he gained significant recognition with the lead role in the musical comedy Bylo nás deset (1963). From the late 1960s onward, he regularly appeared in television series, including early titles such as Záhada hlavolamu (1969) and F. L. Věk (1971). He achieved major popularity through the series Nejmladší z rodu Hamrů (1975) and Inženýrská odysea (1979).

He secured a lasting place in the hearts of audiences as Kuba in the now cult classic children’s TV series Krkonošské pohádky (1974).

Throughout his career, he has portrayed numerous roles in television series, fairy tales, and TV productions. Among the notable titles are the popular series Četnické humoresky (1997) and, in recent years, Policie Modrava.
