KATEŘINA PERGLOVÁ (comic book writer and artist; Czechia)

Kateřina Perglová is a Czech visual artist and screenwriter. She is a trained painter (of canvases, not rooms), a comic book enthusiast, and a fan of dry humor.
She is the creator of the comic Kačka & Mops. Originally published as web strips depicting the everyday life of a quirky little girl and her dog, the series has since been released in two printed volumes, with the first book nominated for the Muriel Award in 2021. The comics have also appeared in the international anthology Pomimo #12. An audio series adaptation for radio is currently in development.
She currently works at Czech Radio, where she creates illustrations for projects of the children’s station Rádio Junior and produces the historical podcast ŽiliByli (radiojunior.cz/zilibyli).
Kateřina has also been collaborating long-term on selected campaigns for ROPID, meaning her illustrations can be spotted throughout Prague’s public transport system.
